Health Services and Healthcare Districts are public entities that provide community-based health care services to citizens within the established district. Commissioners respond to the needs in their district by providing a range of services, which may include a hospital, clinic, skilled nursing facility or emergency medical services; as well as education and wellness programs. Most Healthcare Districts are governed by a locally elected Board of Trustees who are directly accountable to the communities they serve.
Application GuidelinesThe filing window for this position begins the Monday two weeks prior to Memorial Day and ends on the Friday of that week (5 days). Candidacy filing papers can be acquired at and are submitted to either the county elections office or the Secretary of State’s Office in Olympia. For non-partisan offices, if there is only two candidates filed for a position they will run against each other in the November election.
