Description

The Parkway Center Community Development District has a Board-Manager form of government with the Board formulating public policy and the Manager carrying it out. The Board is bound by law to hire a District Manager and District Counsel to serve the operational duties of the Board. The Board consists of five members called Supervisors. The Board serves as the governing body of the district and sets public policies implemented by staff. Commencing six years after the initial appointment of Supervisors and once the District attains a minimum of two hundred and fifty qualified electors, the ‘qualified electoral’ status is transferred from landowner to district resident who must be a U.S Citizen. After their terms expire, all Board of Supervisor members must be qualified electors and will be elected by qualified electors to serve a four year term.

Application Guidelines

In order to be a candidate for this position, please follow these three simple steps: 1) Contact the election administrator (for city positions the city clerk, and for all others, the Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections) make sure you qualify for the position. Certain positions have residency and other requirements. 2) Fill out the necessary documents, including the Statement of Candidacy (DS-DE 84 form), Candidate Oath of Nonpartisan Office (DS-DE 25) and Statement of Financial Interests. Kennedy Blvd., 16th floor, Tampa, Florida 33602. You must pay a $25 dollar fee for your petition of candidacy. The office is open Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 5pm EST. Be mindful about the filing window as it is open for only five consecutive days sometime in June, and the dates vary based on the election date.
